Privacy Policy
Your preparation data is yours. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
Last updated: June 18, 2026
1. Who we are
EALCH (“we”, “us”) is operated by EA dba EALCH. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website and learning platform, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email privacy@ealch.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Account data: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a salted hash).
- Learning data: your target exam, diagnostic results, lesson progress, practice answers, and readiness scores.
- Billing data: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Community & recordings: if you use the optional social features, the writing you submit for peer correction, the corrections you give, language-exchange messages, and any pronunciation audio you record and upload.
- Usage data: basic analytics such as pages viewed and features used, to improve the product.
3. AI-generated feedback
Some optional features use a third-party AI model to give you feedback: grading your written answers, coaching your pronunciation, and estimating your level from language-exchange messages. When you use one of these features, the relevant text (or a rough transcript) is sent to our AI provider to generate that feedback.
- We send only the content needed for that specific feedback.
- AI feedback is an automated estimate to guide your study; it is not a certified score and is not a substitute for your official exam result.
- We do not use your content to train third-party models, and these features are off unless you choose to use them.
4. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Build and adapt your personalized study plan.
- Track progress and show your readiness by skill.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
- Send service messages (for example, password resets).
- Diagnose problems and improve our lessons and content.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your learning data to train third-party advertising profiles.
5. Service providers
We share data with a small set of processors who help us run EALCH, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Resend: transactional and support email.
- Object storage (Cloudflare R2): to store pronunciation audio you choose to upload.
- AI provider: to generate the optional AI feedback described above, from the content you submit for it.
- Hosting & database providers: to store your account and progress securely.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We use limited analytics cookies to understand how the product is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records (for example, billing records) to meet legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU/UK GDPR and Canada's PIPEDA, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and object to certain processing.
- Delete everything yourself, now: go to Account → Danger zoneand choose “Delete account.” This permanently removes your profile, progress, recordings, and community content.
- Any other request: email privacy@ealch.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit risk and will notify affected users if a breach materially affects them.
10. Children
EALCH is intended for adults preparing for French certification exams. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “last updated” date. Questions? Email privacy@ealch.com.
