Pass the DELF / DALF.
Earn the diploma that never expires.
DELF and DALF are the official French diplomas accepted worldwide for study, work, and proof of fluency. EALCH prepares you for the exact level you're sitting, A1 through C2.
What is the Diplôme d'études / approfondi de langue française (DELF & DALF)?
DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) and DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française) are awarded by France Éducation international on behalf of the French Ministry of Education.
DELF covers levels A1 to B2; DALF covers the advanced C1 and C2. Each is a standalone diploma tied to a single CEFR level, and unlike most language tests, the diplomas are valid for life.
They're widely used for university admission in France and abroad, professional recognition, and personal proof of fluency. Because each level is a separate exam, choosing the right one to target is half the battle, and EALCH's diagnostic settles it fast.
Levels & results
DELF: beginner to elementary everyday French.
DELF: independent user; B2 unlocks French universities.
DALF: autonomous, fluent academic and professional use.
DALF: mastery; near-native precision and nuance.

DELF / DALF: common questions
What's the difference between DELF and DALF?
DELF covers CEFR levels A1–B2; DALF covers the advanced C1–C2. They're separate diplomas; you sit the one for the level you're aiming at.
Which level should I take?
B2 is the usual target for French university admission; C1/C2 (DALF) signal advanced or professional mastery. EALCH's diagnostic recommends the level that fits your goal.
Do the diplomas expire?
No. DELF and DALF are valid for life, which is a key advantage over tests like TEF or TCF that expire after two years.
Can I jump straight to B2 or C1?
Yes. There's no requirement to pass lower levels first. EALCH builds your path directly toward your chosen level.
